A while ago, while looking up e-book readers on the net, i was struck by deja-vu.
In 1945, nearly 15 years before satellites became a reality, arthur clarke had written about them in his sf novels.
In 1988, asimov wrote "Prelude to Foundation", part of the Foundation series. It is a series I recommend wholeheartedly. Anyway, in his book, asimov talks of an ancient book reader(the plot is based 20000 years in the future) which holds books electronically inside it, has the same dimensions as a normal book, and runs on batteries (For those who have read the book, you'd remember the "Mycogenian Book", which is so ancient and secretive that no microfilms exist, and such an "archaic" reader must be used.)
And sure enough, around 20 years later, amazon comes out with Kindle, which is soon followed by a whole bunch of e-book readers based on the same principle!
Go SF!
